Technology ecosystem

This term refers to understanding technologies holistically: from devices and tools, to the networks, platforms and data used, to the applications of a technology, while not forgetting the people concerned or affected, such as researchers, civil society and the general public, and the rules which influence how they act, such as institutional rules, regulation, economic and cultural practices.
